Armenian national holidays book is published in order to present the rich culture of the Armenians and especially celebrations. Besides you can learn their application. The book has an Introduction and 17 chapters. Each chapter represents one holiday. Few of them are presented below: New Year (Amanor): January 1 New Year is celebrated a whole week starting with December 31, by baking New Year cookies and tables laden with food and different kinds of sweets. :
Saint Sargis: A Saturday between January 18 and February 23 St. Sargis is a beloved religious observance and is very popular among young people. It is celebrated 63 days before Easter, on a Saturday falling sometime between January 18 and February 23. :
Ascension Day (Hambartsum) May Ascension Day (Hambartsum) Ascension Day marks the ascent of Christ into Heaven 40 days after Easter. :
Easter (Zatik) Easter (Zatik) is the favourite and the most anticipated holiday in the Christian world.
The Transfiguration (Vardavar (The feast of water)): June-July In the traditional Armenian range of holidays, the Transfiguration is the major summer holiday and is celebrated 14 weeks after Easter. :
Holiday of St. Mary: August A day devoted to the Mother of God is celebrated on a Sunday falling between the 12th and the 18th of August.
Holy Cross (Khachverats): September The Armenian Church celebrates this holiday on the Sunday nearest September 14, which is devoted to the Holy Cross (Surb Khach).
